Biography

Retired, having served previously as President of Wellpoint, Inc., Southeast Region, a managed care and health insurance company, from December 2004 until his retirement in January, 2006. From July, 2002 until December, 2004, he served as President of Anthem Southeast, a subsidiary of Anthem, Inc., following its merger with Trigon Healthcare, Inc. Mr. Snead joined Trigon Healthcare, Inc. in 1985 and held various positions, including Chairman from 2000 until 2002, President and Chief Executive Officer from 1999 until 2002, President and Chief Operating Officer from 1997 until 1999 and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 1990 until 1997. He also served as director of LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc., a real estate transaction services company from 2001 until 2009. Elected in 2013 for a term expiring 2016.
